Storage and stability
How to keep a peptide potent before and after you mix it.
Before you mix it (freeze dried)
A sealed, freeze dried vial is the stable form. Keep it cold and dark. The fridge is fine for the short term, and the freezer is better for the long term. Keep it dry, and let a cold vial come closer to room temperature before you open it so moisture does not condense inside.
After you mix it (reconstituted)
Once water is in the vial, store it in the fridge, roughly 2 to 8 degrees C. Most reconstituted peptides hold up for a few weeks this way, though it varies by compound, so check the entry for your peptide.
- Do not freeze a mixed vial. Freezing and thawing can damage the peptide.
- Keep it out of light.
- Throw it out if the liquid turns cloudy, changes color, or grows anything visible.
Everyday handling
CautionHeat and rough handling are the main enemies. Do not leave a vial in a hot car or a sunny window, and never shake it. If you travel, keep it cold with an insulated pack.
